Professor Kim Alexander

Kim Alexander (PhD, RN, MEdu, BHlthSc, BNurs, GradCertBus, GAICD) holds a joint position as a Professor of Cancer Nursing with the School of Nursing at QUT and the Cancer Care Services at Metro North for Queensland Health. With 20 years of experience as an Oncology Registered Nurse, Nurse Researcher, and Epidemiologist, Professor Alexander is at the forefront of integrating genomics and personalised care into the nursing paradigm. Her research focuses on identifying patients at high risk of poor outcomes by investigating the genetic underpinnings of patient experiences, such as symptoms and quality of life, to personalise care accordingly. Professor Alexander is passionate about preparing the nursing workforce for the future of personalised healthcare delivery. She leads curriculum design and delivery for the Master of Nursing (Cancer Nursing) program at QUT and specialised genomics industry training.
